Terms of Use
The plain terms of reading, commenting and voting on Shurman Media. Short on purpose; see our Editorial Policy and AI Disclosure for how stories themselves are made and checked.
Using the site
You may read, link to, and quote briefly from Shurman Media with attribution and a link back, the same courtesy we extend to the outlets we cite. The articles, their text and their images are the property of 2Tech Computing Inc.; republishing a story in full, or a substantial part of one, without our written permission is not permitted.
Accounts, comments and votes
Creating an account means confirming your email and keeping your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Comments must be your own words, held for a person’s review before anyone else sees them, and we may remove a comment or close comments on a story at any time, for any reason, without notice. A vote is one reader’s opinion, not a fact; we may remove votes or suspend an account that is voting in a way that looks automated or coordinated rather than like a person reading the site.
If you believe something infringes your copyright
If you believe an article, image or other material on this site uses your copyrighted work in a way you have not permitted, write to editor@shurman.ca with the article’s address, the work you believe was used, and how to reach you. We review every report and will correct or remove material found to infringe, the same process described on our Corrections page. This follows the spirit of Canada’s notice-and-notice approach under the Copyright Act: a direct conversation first, not an automatic takedown.
No warranty
Shurman Media is provided as is. We check every story against its cited sources before publishing, as described in our Editorial Policy, but news changes quickly and we do not guarantee that any article is complete, current or free of error; that is what the Corrections page is for.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by the laws of British Columbia and Canada, 2Tech Computing Inc. is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this site, including anything posted by another reader in a comment, which reflects that reader’s own views and not ours.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply in it, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute is to be resolved in the courts of British Columbia.
Changes
We may update these terms as the site changes. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
